If the agreement contains provisions of a species not mentioned above, the Clerk will not consider these provisions in an assessment (CSA, s. 84, at para. 3). First, there are two informal ways to reach an agreement on child welfare; parents can accept custody of children either through informal settlement negotiations or through the use of REL processes such as mediation and collaborative family law. A child welfare contract is used by parents to define the details of how they distribute the financial burden of their children`s education when they are no longer romantically involved. Parents can use this document to come up with a satisfactory plan for both parties, in terms of how they assign responsibility for paying for child support, without having to leave control of decision-making to a judge. If both parents can be civil and work in the best interests of their children, they can save time, money and energy by creating a child welfare contract themselves. Limited arrangements to help children allow parents to define their own childcare arrangements.

Limited agreements on child assistance do not require the parties to have received legal advice prior to the conclusion of the agreement.
